Exam in 2 weeks time! And the mood is still stick with all the assignment...

I can foresee a lot of hell right a head.

Going to do the presentation for the Integrated marketing communications... and as my mateys are working on the video rushing for final touch up, I'm left literally not helping at all!!!! 

 

Anyway, the pass week was a busy one.

Represented Taylor’s University to attended a conference at University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) last Thursday.

Students and staffs representative from Chiang-Mai University (CMU) also attended the conference titled : Student’s contribution towards a meaningful and sustainable community development.

It’s an eye opener for me, to experience cultures of different universities. Total networking hours allocated for the event was three and a half hours but I find it difficult for me to network with students of CMU. The language barrier makes the communication really hard. Instead, I established some pretty good connections with students from UKM, UM and University Tenaga Nasional.

 

 

On Friday, there was a Employer Hi-Tea Reception happening in Taylor’s. And I was so lucky to be selected and recommended by my dean to represent my course in this meaningful collaboration. Employers from various fields are invited to the event, including some of my contacts from hotels.

GTI media was also there to talk about the fresh-grads’ expectation towards their employer. And I’m surprise to know some of the statistics that they found out.

For example, student prefer to have more a work-life balance, compared to high position; average starting salary of the industry is RM2460; and students actually preferred to work in an establishment which is easily accessible rather than going oversea.

And in addition to that Taylor’s created my Taylor’s Name Card for me, which is kinda to my surprise!

 

 

Saturday was also a interesting day.

Attended a Networking session by Taylor’s Entrepreneurship and Investment Club (Taylor’s E&I Club).

The event was a close session which only selected candidates referred by the club admin are entitled to join, so the quality of the participant are very good.

Two financial planner and one entrepreneur attended the session and shared their insight about finance planning, entrepreneurship with us.

I was lucky to be one of the lucky participant who won a book by Mr. Rajen Devadason in the question and answer session.

He also signed the book for me.

 

And that was three networking session for me just within a week.
